Travel English: At the train station: So you’re going on a journey by the train? It’s a great experience as usual and you can’t wait to meet the exciting people who will be your co-passengers. In this lesson learn the words and phrases that will be useful in your journey.



Train Station : It is the terminal where trains load or unload passengers as well as goods.

Round Trip Ticket : A round trip ticket means a ticket to a place and then back, usually on the same route.

One Way Ticket : A one way ticket is the ticket that ensures a passenger to travel only to his destination without returning.

Travel : To travel means to make a journey, typically of some length or abroad.

Ticket : A ticket is a small piece of paper that gives the holder a certain right especially to enter a place or to travel by public transport.

Credit Card : It is a plastic card issued by a bank, business, etc for the purchase of goods and services on credit.

Car Number : A stenciled number that is given to each car which conveys a unique identity.

Seat Number : There are various seats in a train. Seats is something like a chair or bench, that can be sat on.

Luggage : Your luggage are your suitcases or other bags in which you pack your personal belongings.

Baggage Check : Checked baggage refers to the items of luggage delivered to a train for transportation in the hold of baggage car of a passenger train, which means it is inaccessible to the passenger during the ride.

Receipt : Receipt is basically a written acknowledgment that mentions that a specified article or some amount of money has been received.

Tag : A tag is a label attached to someone or something for identification.

Restaurant Car : A railroad car serves meals inside the train.

Countryside : It is the land and scenery of a rural area, that is a village.

Suitcase : A suitcase is a case with a handle and a hinged lid used for carrying clothes and other personal possessions.
